PROJECT 4
REFLECTION
The final project this time is to animate the posters we made. To be honest, I was a little nervous at first because I had hardly used After Effects before. But when I really started, I found it was actually quite fun! Although the operation is sometimes cumbersome, it is really rewarding to see my own pictures move and express the feelings I want to convey.
My favorite discovery this semester is After Effects. Although it looks complicated, it is actually much easier to operate than I thought. I am still slowly exploring the Photoshop part. I know that there are still many functions that I have not mastered, but I think I am much braver than I started.
In terms of production, I tried many different backgrounds and overlay methods on Photoshop at the beginning, trying to adjust the feeling that is both dreamy and layered. The most time-consuming part is actually the fusion between the characters and the background-how to make the portrait not "pasted on", but like it really grows out of the story? I used layer blending mode, feathered edges, and added shadows and highlights to slowly adjust. Although the process is quite fragmented, I am very satisfied when I see that the final picture presents the kind of "self who walks out of the inner world" that I want.
When animating the final scene, I added the flying of butterflies, the light of stars, and the slow movement of flowers in After Effects to make the whole scene "alive".
This course is like a window to my creative world. I began to believe that images can also be a way to express emotions, thoughts, and even dreams. I am very happy that I have completed this module, and I look forward to using these skills to create more works of my own next time!
