PROJECT 1

Part 2A: Digital Exposure (1.Tutorial Work)

This is the final result from our digital exposure tutorial.

Part 2A: Digital Exposure (2.Self-digital Exposure )

Double Exposure Practice

In the picture, I lower my head, and my inner body is blended with green plants, water ripples and white flowers. The overall background is also filled with soft petals, presenting a peaceful state of "man is nature, nature is man".
• The posture of the character: quiet, introverted, with a sense of emotional flow of thoughts.
• Fusion materials: flowers, water, and green plants symbolize vitality, purity, emotional flow and natural connection.
• Overall atmosphere: dreamlike, visually it seems to enter a certain meditative state of the inner world, arousing the emotional resonance of the viewer.

PROJECT 2

Part 2B: Poster Creation

Theme:Renewal of life: Return Contemplate, human beings' relationship with all things.

Category: Magic Lock Screen (Square & Vertical poster only)

Title: The Whispering Garden of Return

Summary of your design concept:

1. Collage structure design:

• The background is based on a cloth-textured mountain landscape, using soft blue-purple and ochre-red tones to create a transitional atmosphere "between dreams and dusk". The outline of the mountain looks like both land and an open page of time.

• The foreground uses multiple elements (pages, flowers, butterflies) to create a sense of depth, deliberately blurring the perspective to create a non-linear "memory space", making people feel that it is both real and like the inner world.

2. Element symbol selection:

• Butterfly: a symbol of transformation and rebirth, the color scheme uses blue to echo the theme of "quiet transformation".

• Flying birds and white butterflies: flying around the characters in a dynamic path, creating a visual momentum of "awakening of thoughts and souls".

• Yellow light and rays: introducing hand-painted starlight, distributed in an irregular rhythm, to enhance the mystery and the flow of cosmic energy.

REFLECTION

Throughout this project, I explored two very different design styles one focused on playful collage for a mobile wallpaper, and the other on soft double exposure for a more poetic feel.

For the collage work, I experimented with layering flowers, butterflies, birds and sparkles to create a dreamy visual story. It was fun to shift from just using illustrations to combining real image cutouts and textures. I also tried animating the final version using After Effects, adding movement to the butterflies and background sparkles. This made the composition feel more alive and gave me a better understanding of how motion can bring visuals to life.

In contrast, the double exposure exercise felt more calm and introspective. I blended portraits with natural elements like water, trees, and flowers. It taught me how to balance contrast and layering, while still keeping the mood soft and clear. This task also made me more aware of light and texture interaction in images.

These two works helped me grow both technically and creatively one encouraged freedom and colour, while the other taught subtlety and quiet impact. I enjoyed the process of switching between these modes and learning how to express different emotions through visual design.
